Eye of the Dreamcatcher
One of beauty, one of knowledge, one of peace — or so they said. She held an eye for dreams, letting her mind wisp into fairytales, believing they were kinder than that of the waking world. In some ways that may be true, but in others, she lost all.
One day, the woman met a fae who promised all she could ever dream to make true… if she gave up her body. The woman agreed but asked only to keep her eyes, wishing to see what she could make true.
Now, many know the stories of the fae — their trickery, their games. We all know how this goes… and if not, lean in and listen close.
The fae gave her what she asked — allowed the woman to keep her eyes, woven into that of a net hung above in the field of dreams. Dreams are beautiful… but as a net, you catch all. So as dreams are caught, so are nightmares.
As the woman’s eyes aged, she grew mournful of her decision. Bogged down by seeing all before her, yet none could she grasp. So now, she forever mourns what was lost to her. Yet still, she watches — forever seeing, forever longing — over the field of dreams.
